ITV have gone ‘Behind Closed Doors’ and into the life of kickboxer and action star Jean-Claude Van Damme in this documentary. Van-Damme has given ITV insight into his life as he prepares for a kickboxing fight for the first time since 1982 and also takes us behind the scenes of his latest movies.[4] [5]

Jean-Claude allows the cameras into his private as well as his public world. We see another side to the man know as The Muscles from Brussels at home with his family, behind the scenes on film locations, and generally relaxing in his own private world. In part one, Jean-Claude makes an emotional trip to a church where he had an epiphany as a child. He travels across the globe to play the part of Napoleon in a Russian film only to get a bit more than he bargained for. And saves a near dead stray dog he finds in the road in Romania. |

| Jean-Claude celebrates his 50th birthday by reflecting on his life and career. We join his wife Gladys who also takes a trip down memory lane as she revisits their first house in LA when her husband's career first took off. Later she calls in at the cafe where they had their first date. And Jean-Claude goes in Begium to record a TV show called "Il était une fois Jean-Claude Van Damme" for the channel RTL-TVI and celebrating his 50th birthday. Then he goes to Paris were he takes part in a steamy interview for the french radio Fun Radio, and gets backstage access to the famous Moulin Rouge club, before flying back to Ukraine where he meets his old friend Alexander, goes in a shooting club and buys caviar. | ||||

| Jean-Claude plans a Rocky-style comeback in the kickboxing ring against Olympic champion Somluck Kamsing. But at the age of fifty it is a huge task and Jean Claude knows he needs to return to peak fitness to recapture his past glories. He returns to Belgium to rejoin his old trainer from his younger days Claude Goetz - the man who made him the Muscles from Brussels. It's an emotional reunion but it also brings home the enormity of the task both mentally and physically. We follow JC to Dubai where he trys some watersports and explains that he had been blacklisted in Hollywood since 1994 after refusing a 36 million dollars offer from Universal studios because he was wasted. | ||||

| Jean-Claude back in the middle of the action on the set of the movie Weapon. Unfortunately though things go badly wrong during the rehearsals for a fight scene when some rather over enthusiastic punches leave his co-star in trouble. And there is more trouble ahead as Jean-Claude makes a trip to the Ukraine for a guest appearance at a charity fashion show. A friend of Jean-Claude's in the Ukraine also organises a belated 50th birthday party for him with popstar Inna but instead of enjoying the celebrations, the action hero gets caught up in the middle of a frenzied media storm. Eventually the barrage of attention hoisted on the star eventually pushes him right to the edge. | ||||

| It's Christmas Van Damme style as the family get together to celebrate at home. Jean-Claude's daughter Bianca brings her boyfriend Eddy to meet her dad for the first time - a terrifying experience for anyone but doubly so for this poor lad. Jean-Claude decides this will be a Christmas Eddy will never forget as the pair head straight for the gym. Later on he challenges Eddy to a fight just to complete the festivities with a bang. Later on we join Jean-Claude on the set of a film in Louisiana where a fight scene goes horribly wrong and the paramedics have to be called in. | ||||
